BIG CLIFF, PHOTOGRAPHER, Broadway, Nashville, Tennessee, 1992.

Big Cliff and myself were both sporting cameras and snakeskin cowboy boots. After eyeing each other up and comparing photographic equipment and footwear, we were chatting away in no time at all. He made a living taking photos of tourists with his Polaroid camera.

Big Cliff was no stranger in the legendary honky tonk, Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge, where he could often be seen with a microphone in his hand with a country classic coming from his golden throat.

He was a lovely fella and a gentleman – a true ‘Nashville Cat.’

(Big Cliff can also be seen outside Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge with his drinking buddies in the photograph of the same name in the Music gallery).
